The study visit of professors and students from the Summer School 2025 program
Professors and Students of the Summer School 2025 Program Visit the Experimental Station of the Cambodian Rubber Research Institute under the Theme “Dynamics of Change in Smallholders' Rubber Plantations.”
On May 22, 2025, the Cambodian Rubber Research Institute organized a study visit for professors and students from the Summer School 2025 program under the theme “Dynamics of Change in Smallholders' Rubber Plantations” at its experimental station located in Tboung Khmum District, Tboung Khmum Province. The delegation included 38 participants (15 female students) from four countries: Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
The Summer School 2025 program is held in collaboration with the Royal University of Agriculture, Prince of Songkla University (Thailand), and the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD), with support from the FORSEA and TALENT projects.
To kick off the visit, Mr. Phen Pharon, Deputy Director of the Institute, presented the history, mission, research programs, training activities, and key achievements of the Institute. Following that, Dr. Eric Gohet, senior researcher from CIRAD, gave a presentation on “Latex Harvesting Systems: Definitions and Standards for Latex Quality Evaluation.” Finally, all professors and students participated in hands-on activities, inspecting latex quality in rubber plantations. They were divided into five groups for discussion and field practice.
